A Pair of Joined Hand-Woven Wool Saddlebags
Description
Hand-woven wool khorjin or double saddlebags joined by a central woven bridge. The textile features a traditional geometric design executed in a palette of red, black, orange, and white. Each bag is decorated with a central field containing two stylized medallions, framed by multiple nested borders of jagged-edged rectangular motifs. The upper edges are finished with a thick trim of looped black wool. Multi-coloured twisted wool tassels are attached at each corner. A white adhesive rectangular sticker located on the right-hand bag bears the handwritten digits 12794. An additional white adhesive sticker on the far right edge bears the digits 279. No maker names, signatures, or country of origin marks are visible on the object.
