An Assortment of South Vietnamese and French Indochinese Banknotes
Description
An assortment of vintage paper currency primarily from the Republic of Vietnam and French Indochina, housed within a collector’s album with plastic sleeves. The collection features various denominations including one, two, five, fifty, five hundred, and one thousand Dong, alongside fractional Hào issues. Several notes bear the printed inscription NGÂN-HÀNG QUỐC-GIA VIỆT-NAM, such as the 500 Dong note featuring a tiger motif, the 2 Dong note depicting a traditional sailing junk with serial number 320054, and the 1000 Dong note. A red 5 Dong note is marked at the lower edge with the printed text SECURITY BANKNOTE COMPANY. The collection also contains a French Indochinese note with the printed header BANQUE DE L’INDOCHINE, featuring serial number 0193461186 and a portrait of a local woman. The notes are printed on paper and display a variety of colours and intricate guilloché background patterns.
