Vintage Official Boy Scouts Leather Belt with Be Prepared Buckle
Description
A vintage official Boy Scouts leather belt, likely dating to the mid-20th century. The item comprises a wide, dark brown leather strap fitted with a two-piece interlocking metal buckle. The circular central plate of the buckle features the Scouting fleur-de-lis emblem in relief, bordered by the embossed words BOY SCOUTS and the motto BE PREPARED. The buckle is finished in a dark patinated metal. The leather strap is secured with a metal slider and includes hand-punched adjustment holes. Two labels are adhered to the leather: a white Shelby’s Auctioneers lot label (Lot 182) and a small handwritten sticker (12704). The belt is presented in a blue fabric-lined box which bears a partial gilded maker’s mark starting with FER, likely associated with the box itself rather than the belt.
