A Trio of Framed Napoleonic Military Prints Including Sergeant Ewart at Waterloo
Description
A trio of framed colour lithographic prints depicting British military scenes from the Napoleonic era. The primary work, presented in a gilt frame with a pale blue-grey mount, depicts a famous incident from the Battle of Waterloo: Sergeant Charles Ewart of the Scots Greys capturing the French Imperial Eagle. A descriptive label on the mount reads: SERGEANT EWART OF THE SCOTS GREYS CAPTURING THE EAGLE AND STANDARD OF THE FRENCH 45th REGIMENT, WATERLOO 1815. The two companion prints, set in dark-stained frames with off-white mounts, depict a cavalry charge and a line formation of dragoons. All three works are presented under glass. No visible signatures or edition numbering were observed.
