An Assortment of Decorative Stone Carvings and Art Glass Items
Description
This collection comprises four hand-carved stone figures and a variety of art glass objects. The stone carvings are fashioned from a translucent, pale cream to amber-toned mineral, likely onyx or alabaster, and include a standing lion on a rectangular plinth base, a stylized hippopotamus, a reclining female nude, and a standing elephant with its trunk raised. The glass items include two bowls with undulating, ruffled rims featuring a marbled blue and white pattern. The lot also includes three globular glass paperweights: one with red, white, and black millefiori-style inclusions; one in cobalt blue with gold foil flecks; and one clear glass weight with faceted sides. Additionally, there are two circular flat glass weights, one featuring a multi-coloured butterfly and the other depicting black silhouette figures. A Shelby’s Auctioneers lot tag is attached to the hippopotamus and a small adhesive label marked 501 is present on the elephant.
