A Large Collection of 300 Various Age Postcards and Ephemera
Description
A substantial collection of 300 various age postcards and paper ephemera, primarily dating from the late 19th century to the mid-20th century, including the Art Nouveau (c.1890-1910) and Art Deco (c.1920-1940) periods. The lot comprises a variety of printing methods including chromolithography, lithography, and Real Photo Postcards (RPPC). The diverse subject matter includes topographical views such as North Wales, Interlaken (Hotel du Lac), and Scarborough (Hotel Astoria), as well as heraldic interest featuring the crest of Prussia. Also included are social and humorous illustrations, romantic vignettes, and floral birthday greetings. The collection spans multiple eras of production, including undivided back, white border, and chrome examples, and may include cigarette cards such as those by Wills. Several pieces are preserved in protective plastic sleeves. Standard dimensions approximately 14cm x 9cm.
