Description

A comprehensive collection of blue and white transfer-printed ceramic tableware, primarily executed in glazed earthenware and ironstone. The assembly features a variety of patterns, most notably the classic Blue Willow design with its iconic Chinoiserie landscape, bridge, and doves. Other pieces display pastoral and floral motifs reminiscent of Spode’s Blue Italian and similar nineteenth-century English patterns. The lot comprises three large covered tureens with matching underplates, a gravy boat on a coordinating stand, a large octagonal pitcher, and an assortment of dinner plates, side plates, bowls, and teacups. While no maker’s marks are immediately visible from the primary orientation, the quality and styles suggest a mix of nineteenth and twentieth-century English manufacture, potentially including pieces from Staffordshire potteries or similar European factories. Pitcher height approximately 20cm, largest tureen width approximately 32cm.
