Agfa Billy Folding Medium Format Camera with Pronto Shutter
Description
This lot features a vintage Agfa Billy series folding bellows camera, manufactured in Germany circa 1930. A classic example of medium format portable photography, this model utilizes 120 roll-film to produce 6x9cm negatives. It is equipped with an Agfa Igestar anastigmat lens mounted in an Alfred Gauthier Pronto shutter, providing selectable speeds of 1/25, 1/50, and 1/100 second, in addition to Bulb (B) and Time (T) settings. The camera body is constructed of metal with a black textured leatherette covering and features a top-mounted swivelling brilliant waist-level viewfinder. Accessories include one vintage wooden-core film spool and a historical printed guide titled Views of Rottingdean. Serial number is not externally visible.
