A substantial collection of 200 various age postcards and items of ephemera, spanning the late Victorian era through to the mid-20th century. This diverse assortment encompasses topographical, architectural, and social history subjects. Notable topographical views include British and Continental European landscapes and street scenes, featuring a French card depicting the Vestibule d Entree of the Pensionnat Secondaire Diocesain de Passy in Paris. Institutional history is represented by cards relating to The Crossley & Porter Orphanage in Halifax. The lot includes Real Photo Postcards (RPPC), most notably a large group portrait of a school or club dating to the 1910s-1920s. Artistic highlights include a colour-illustrated card titled The Only House to Let by the renowned illustrator Mabel Lucie Attwell, alongside early colour lithographed cards with ornate floral and gilt-effect borders. Visible publishers and printers include H. Touttain & M. Petit of Paris and F. Duckworth of Colne. The collection is individually housed in protective plastic sleeves.
