A Set of Four Giclee Prints after Antonio Canova's Dancers
Description
A set of four giclee prints after Antonio Canova’s ‘Dancers’. Each print depicts a distinct dancing female figure in a Neoclassical or Classical Revival style, often referred to as ‘Grecian’ figures. The figures, dressed in flowing classical drapery and ribbons or holding wreaths, are presented on a dark ground. The original artworks, which these prints reproduce, resemble gouache or watercolor. The prints are individually framed within simple mats and housed under glass in complementary gilded wood frames. One frame features a white auction sticker marked ‘Shelbys Auctioneers Ltd’, ‘243’, and ‘6003’.
