Description
A Victorian brass-bound mahogany writing slope of rectangular form. The exterior is fitted with brass corner mounts, an inset brass nameplate to the lid, and a matching brass escutcheon. The hinged lid opens to reveal a dual-hinged interior with a black leather-lined writing surface finished with gilt-tooled borders. The upper section contains internal compartments for writing instruments and inkwells. An adhesive label bearing the number 7291 is present on the exterior.
