A Swiss Nyon Factory Teabowl and Saucer, 18th Century
Description
This European porcelain teabowl and saucer set, attributed to the Swiss Nyon Factory and dating to the 18th century, features a white ground with a subtle molded relief pattern. Both pieces are adorned with hand-painted polychrome floral sprigs and scattered individual flowers, bordered by gilt rims. The footed teabowl also has gilt detailing on its base. The underside of the saucer bears faint handwritten text, possibly “China” or “Chine” with numbers. The underside of the teabowl displays a distinct blue underglaze mark resembling a stylized anchor or complex monogram, consistent with Nyon production.
