Description
A hardbound album from the early 20th century, featuring a worn, muted green-grey fabric or paper-covered board binding. The album contains a collection of mounted postcards and possibly photographs, held by corner slots on its aged, discolored pages. The visible contents include both black and white and hand-colored images depicting diverse subjects such as landscapes (e.g., “Corris Mills Bridge”), cityscapes (“Promenade and Seashore, Mont. Hilary.”), architectural views, rural scenes (a harvest), and studio portraits of women. Some contents bear handwritten inscriptions, including “In your love this…”. One postcard is clearly dated “2.8.04” (August 2nd, 1904), confirming an early 20th-century period. An auction sticker for “Shelbys Auctioneers Ltd” with lot numbers “181” and “885” is affixed to one page.
