Art Nouveau Postcard Album featuring The Feathered World Poultry Illustrations and Bradford Topographical Views, circa 1905-1915
Description
This Edwardian-era postcard album is housed in a dark, textured cloth binding featuring a stylized Art Nouveau floral motif in red and gold, embossed with the title POST CARDS. The interior contains dark green cardstock pages with die-cut corner mounts. A primary highlight of the collection is a series of colour lithograph poultry illustrations issued as supplements by The Feathered World publication. These detailed plates depict various breeds of chickens, roosters, and turkeys, with several examples attributed to the noted natural history artist A.F. Lydon and bearing dates between 1908 and 1912. The album further contains a significant selection of sepia-toned topographical postcards of Bradford, England, including street scenes of Darley Street, Manningham Lane, and the Alhambra. Personal ephemera includes real photographic postcards featuring working horses, family portraits, and a group on a Robinsons Royal Blue motor tour. Album measures approximately 26 cm x 21 cm.
