Lot 123:
Early 19th Century Worcester Porcelain Flight Barr BFB Shell Decorated Two Teacups and One Saucer
Description
A three-piece tea service comprising two teacups and one matching saucer, attributed to Worcester Porcelain, Flight Barr & Barr (BFB), dating to the early 19th century. Each piece is crafted from white porcelain and features sepia-toned transfer-printed marine motifs, specifically various seashells and organic elements resembling coral or seaweed. These decorations are further enhanced by molded relief work on the body of the cups and the surface and rim of the saucer. The teacups are designed with simple C-scroll handles and stand on raised circular bases, while the saucer exhibits a scalloped rim. No discernible maker’s marks or text are visible on the ceramic. One cup bears a small, unreadable white paper tag.
