Jolly 30-Day Mechanical Regulator-Style Wall Clock, Late 20th Century
Description
A vintage Jolly brand regulator-style wall clock featuring a mechanical 30-day key-wind movement. The dark-stained wooden case is designed with a decorative arched pediment featuring a central shell carving and flanking turned pilasters. The front door is divided into two glass panes; the lower section is embellished with a gold-tone foliate scrollwork border, revealing a large circular brass-toned pendulum bob. The dial comprises a white chapter ring with bold black Arabic numerals, ornate gold-tone corner spandrels, and a wood-grain effect centre. It is marked Jolly and 30 Days with two winding apertures at the 4 and 8 o’clock positions. The movement typically strikes on the hour and half-hour.
