Lot 92:
A Set of Four Mid-Century Industrial Stacking Stools
Description
A set of four mid-century industrial stacking stools in the style of the Dot stool by Arne Jacobsen. Each stool features a circular, dark-stained wooden seat mounted on a dark-painted tubular metal frame. The functionalist design allows for vertical stacking to save space. Each stool is supported by four legs terminating in white plastic glides, and the seats are secured to the frames by four recessed screws. A small, rectangular white label remnant is visible on the surface of one seat, though no characters or maker’s marks are legible. This style is characteristic of mid-20th-century British educational and laboratory furniture, such as the pieces produced by the Educational Supply Association (ESA) or Pel.
