A Victorian Rococo Revival style carved dark hardwood side chair
Description
This side chair is constructed from dark-stained hardwood in the Victorian Rococo Revival style. The openwork backrest is elaborately carved with scrolling acanthus leaves and C-scrolls centering a floral motif. The circular seat features inset caning and is supported by a moulded seat rail. The chair is raised on four cabriole legs, with the front pair terminating in scroll feet. An inventory label with the handwritten number 12672 is attached to the side of the seat rail.
