Description
A pair of 20th-century weathered reconstituted stone garden ornaments modelled as facing lions in the classical Medici style. Each lion is depicted in a standing posture on an integral rectangular plinth base, with one figure resting a forepaw upon a sphere. The sculptures are constructed from cast stone and exhibit a textured surface with pitting and erosion. Both pieces feature small adhesive inventory labels, with one inscribed with the characters 9776 over D. The surfaces show extensive natural weathering with moss and lichen growth throughout.
