A Royal Grafton Fine Bone China Tea Service
Description
A mid-20th-century English bone china tea service produced by Royal Grafton (A.B. Jones and Sons Ltd) of Longton, Stoke-on-Trent. The set is decorated with transfer-printed floral sprays in pink, blue, and green on a white ground, bordered by a continuous gilded scrolling foliate band. Each piece features a scalloped rim and fluted body. The base of each item bears a black underglaze backstamp featuring a crown and laurel wreath motif with the text Royal Grafton, Fine China, Bone, MADE IN ENGLAND. This service comprises 31 pieces: 4 teacups, 12 saucers, 12 side plates, 1 large circular cake/serving plate, 1 milk jug/creamer, and 1 open sugar or slop bowl.
