A Collection of Silver-Plated Tablewares Including a Large Twin-Handled Gallery Tray and Tea Service
Description
A varied collection of silver-plated tablewares, primarily in neoclassical and late Victorian styles. The lot features a large oval gallery tray with twin scrolled handles, an engraved central bed depicting foliate and scroll motifs, and a raised border with a gadrooned rim. Included is a partial four-piece tea and coffee service comprising a tall coffee pot, a teapot, a twin-handled sugar bowl, and a cream jug. These pieces exhibit gadrooned decoration to the lower bodies, scrolled handles, and decorative finials on the hinged lids. The assortment also contains a pair of candlesticks with square, tiered bases, a novelty dish cast in the form of a butterfly, a small circular tray with an embossed rim, a small plain bowl, and a small vessel containing a cobalt blue glass liner. No maker’s marks or hallmarks are visible in the provided images; the items exhibit surface characteristics and wear consistent with silver-plated ware (EPNS).
