A Collection of Vintage US Railroad Stock Certificates from the Boston and Albany and Pittsburgh, Youngstown and Ashtabula Railroad Companies
Description
A collection of vintage railroad stock certificates from the Boston and Albany Rail Road Company and The Pittsburgh, Youngstown and Ashtabula Railroad Company. The Boston and Albany certificates feature ornate olive-green intaglio borders and a central vignette depicting a harbour scene with steam locomotives, bridges, and sailing vessels. These items are dated 1939 and 1940 and carry certificate numbers B 66095 and B 48371. The preferred stock certificates from The Pittsburgh, Youngstown and Ashtabula Railroad Company are printed in teal-green ink and feature a vignette of a steam locomotive with the word PREFERRED in large block letters across the centre. These documents, numbered A4688 and A4682, indicate a face value of fifty dollars per share. All certificates in the collection include various handwritten signatures from company officials and bear official cancellation marks, including CANCELLED stamps and multiple punch holes.
