Two Vintage Britool Chrome Alloy Steel Service Socket Sets in Original Metal Cases
Description
This lot comprises two vintage British-made socket wrench sets manufactured by Britool (British Tool & Engineering Co. Ltd) in Wolverhampton. Both sets are housed in their original red-painted sheet-steel cases. The tools are constructed from chrome alloy steel and include a comprehensive variety of components such as a ratchet handle, a speed brace, multiple extension bars, universal joints, and a large assortment of multi-point and hexagonal sockets. Each case features a riveted oval metal plaque on the exterior lid with the embossed text Chrome Alloy Steel, Britool, and Service Tools. One case contains a printed internal identification label on the underside of the lid, identifying the manufacturer as Britool Works, Bushbury, Wolverhampton, with a layout diagram of the contents. The ratchet handle in the second case is stamped British Britool Made. A soiled cloth rag and a yellowed paper contents chart are also present within the cases.
