Description
A late 19th or early 20th-century overmantel mirror in the Louis Philippe style. The frame is of arched form, constructed from gilt composition over wood. It is surmounted by a prominent, ornate central cresting featuring pierced scrolling acanthus leaves and foliate motifs in the Rococo taste. The frame continues with rounded shoulders and is accented with scrolled decorative elements at the lower corners. It houses a plain, arched mirror plate and sits on a flat, moulded base.
