A Late Victorian Pine Washstand with Mirrored Back and Tiled Splashback
Description
A late Victorian washstand of trestle form constructed from solid pine. The superstructure features a mirrored back panel set beneath a cornice decorated with dentil moulding. The splashback is inset with a horizontal row of eight stylised floral transfer-printed tiles in muted brown and cream tones. The rectangular planked top is raised on two shaped, scroll-form end supports joined by a central stretcher, with the whole resting on stepped plinth bases. The wood displays a natural, weathered finish with visible grain. No maker’s marks or labels are present.
