A Roberts R707 Three Band Portable Transistor Radio
Description
A vintage portable transistor radio manufactured by Roberts Radio Co. Ltd., identified as the R707 model. The unit features a rectangular cabinet finished in black Rexine with teak-veneered wooden end panels. The front is fitted with a central vertical black strip bearing the Roberts maker name and a large perforated silver-tone metal speaker grille. The top-mounted control panel includes a linear slide-rule tuning dial with frequency markings for FM (VHF), MW, and LW bands. Controls consist of three push-button band selectors and two large, silver-capped rotary knobs for volume/power and tuning. A telescopic aerial is located to the upper left. A white adhesive sticker with the handwritten number 9751 is present on the top surface.
