A Collection of Silver-Plated Tableware and Dressing Table Accessories
Description
An assortment of silver-plated (EPNS) and glass items of early to mid-20th-century style. The collection includes a seven-bar toast rack with a central ring handle and ball feet, alongside a three-light candelabrum featuring scrolling arms and urn-form nozzles on a circular foot. A cut-glass sugar caster or muffineer is present with a pierced silver-plated cover. The lot also contains a decorative wine bottle holder with a pierced gallery showing scrolling foliate motifs. An urn-form vessel with twin handles and an embossed base has been converted into a table lamp, fitted with a modern electrical socket and cord; a label on the base indicates a pre-decimal price of 50/-. The dressing table accessories consist of a hand mirror and matching hairbrush with embossed floral and foliate designs, a secondary silver-plated brush, and a silver-handled comb. A pair of silver-plated knife rests of traditional bar and sphere design completes the group. No maker’s marks or hallmarks were identified on the items.
