A Late Victorian Wooden Mantel Clock and a Pair of Barley-Twist Candlesticks
Description
This lot comprises a late 19th-century Victorian wooden mantel clock and a pair of decorative candlesticks. The clock is designed in an architectural style with an ebonised case, inset with two green-veined marble columns and decorated with incised gilt scrollwork to the front. The circular dial features a gilt centre and a chapter ring with Roman numerals, including two winding holes for the mechanical movement. The accompanying pair of barley-twist candlesticks are crafted from turned wood with spirally turned stems resting on stepped circular bases, finished with metal sconces and collars.
