Description

A collection of hand-painted white metal military miniatures and field artillery representing various regiments and eras of the British Army. The collection includes figures in mid-18th century red coats with tricorne hats and white breeches, alongside a Napoleonic-era Grenadier in a red tunic, blue trousers, and a tall bearskin cap. Notable standard bearers within the collection include a figure carrying the regimental colour of the 92nd (Gordon Highlanders) Regiment of Foot, identified by a heart-shaped wreath containing the characters XCI I REG, and a figure of colour in British uniform carrying a colour bearing the Minden battle honour. A third bearer carries the King’s Colour (Union Jack), and an additional detached Union Jack flag is present. The lot features two blackened metal field cannons on carriage wheels. The figures are mounted on a variety of bases, including simple green-painted metal and a larger decorative wooden plinth. No maker’s marks are visible on the upper surfaces of the bases, but the sculpting and painting are in the style of manufacturers such as Chas C. Stadden or Tradition of London.
