Lot 184:
A Collection of Cased Flatware with Green Handles and Decorative Carved Horn Items including an Oriental Silver and Silver Lipped Letter Opener
Description
This lot comprises a cased twelve-piece flatware set and a group of decorative horn items. The flatware consists of a service for six, including six fish knives and six fish forks. These items feature distinctive emerald green handles, likely celluloid or an early plastic, accented with white metal bolsters and silver-plated blades and tines. The set is housed in its original black fitted presentation case with a cream satin-lined lid. The decorative horn items include a mid-20th-century carved horn figurine of an antelope or gazelle in a leaping pose, secured to a rectangular wooden plinth. This is accompanied by an oriental silver and silver lipped letter opener featuring a matching carved horn handle and a curved metal blade with decorative engraving.
Antelope height: approximately 17 centimetres.
