An Assortment of Cased and Loose Silver-Plated and Stainless Steel Flatware and Cutlery
Description
This collection consists of several cased sets and loose pieces of mid-20th-century flatware and cutlery. The lot includes two cased sets of tea or dessert knives with cream-coloured celluloid handles and stainless steel blades. A boxed set of six pickle forks features decorative multi-coloured resin handles. A pink-lined box contains a set of silver-plated grapefruit spoons with scalloped bowls and scrolled handles. A red-lined presentation case houses a dessert set of small spoons and forks with scrolled patterns. A large wicker-effect case contains a partial service of silver-plated flatware with beaded and scrolled decorations. An additional green-lined canteen contains an assortment of loose pieces. The collection also includes several commercial cardboard boxes containing bundles of spoons, with one box labelled 1 doz D. SPNS and E.P.N.S indicating electroplated nickel silver. The materials used throughout the collection include silver plate, stainless steel, celluloid, and resin.
The largest black case measures approximately 23cm in length.
