A Collection of Twelve Decorative Glass and Ceramic Hand Bells
Description
This lot comprises a collection of twelve decorative hand bells produced in a variety of materials and styles, including cut crystal, overlay glass, and painted ceramics. The group features a clear glass bell with a deep red overlay, decorated with wheel-etched foliate and leaf patterns. Also included is a tall cut crystal bell with deep vertical mitre cuts and a silver-toned metal handle, and another crystal bell featuring traditional diamond-cut patterns on a multifaceted stem. One art glass example is distinguished by a twisted multi-coloured glass handle in shades of blue, red, yellow, and green. The ceramic components include a black glazed bell with gilded floral motifs and a smaller reddish-brown bell with hand-painted floral details. Other examples include clear glass and crystal bells with varied decorative handles and an amber-toned glass bell. One cut-glass bell bears a rectangular silver and black foil label on the body, though the text is not clearly legible. Another small clear glass bell has a white paper tag attached to the handle marked 9735.
