An Italian Figural Porcelain Table Lamp by Nicola Belcari
Description
A porcelain figural table lamp by Italian artist Nicola Belcari. The lamp features a hand-painted ceramic figure of a woman in traditional Japanese dress, wearing a cream-coloured kimono decorated with blue and grey floral and scroll motifs. She is depicted holding a blossom in one hand and a basket of flowers in the other. The figure is set upon a scrolled white porcelain base, which is mounted on a tiered, dark-stained circular wooden plinth. A gilt metal plaque on the wooden base is inscribed N. Belcari. The lamp is constructed with a curved brass-finished metal stem and a bayonet-cap bulb holder. It is fitted with a white flex and a standard UK three-pin plug.
