Two Mid-Century Gold-Tone Metal Vanity Cases
Description
A group of two mid-century vintage vanity accessories, comprising a rectangular multi-compartment carryall and a D-shaped minaudière evening bag. The rectangular carryall features a gold-tone metal exterior with engine-turned linear decoration and a central blank rectangular cartouche. The hinged lid opens to a mirrored interior housing a faux-tortoiseshell comb, designated compartments for powder and rouge, and an integrated cylindrical lipstick holder. Small incised marks are present on the interior frame but are not clearly legible for attribution. The D-shaped minaudière is decorated with an intricate etched foliate pattern featuring deer and birds amongst vegetation. It is fitted with a metal mesh chain handle and a pink satin-lined interior. The interior contains two matching rectangular accessory cases secured by elasticated straps.
