A mid-20th century British Army Service Dress tunic
Description
A British Army Service Dress tunic, constructed from khaki wool. The garment features a four-button front closure, notched lapels, and shoulder straps. It is designed with two pleated breast pockets with scalloped flaps and two large bellows-style lower pockets. The sleeves feature distinct pointed V-shaped cuff stitching. The tunic is fitted with four brass front-closure buttons, each featuring a design surmounted by a Tudor crown. Mounted on the lower part of each lapel is a metal four-pointed star rank pip. A single medal ribbon bar representing the General Service Medal (1918-1962) is pinned above the left breast pocket, featuring a central purple stripe flanked by two green stripes.
