A Pair of East German Military RFT Angle-Head Flashlights
Description
A pair of East German military-issue angle-head flashlights, constructed in olive green moulded plastic. This design, influenced by the American TL-122 series, was standard equipment for the Nationale Volksarmee (NVA) and other DDR security organs. Both examples feature a right-angle head, a metal belt or pocket clip, and a three-position sliding switch with a momentary signal button. The top flashlight has a clear lens. The bottom flashlight is fitted with a black ribbed lens shroud and filter holder on the head and a similar component stored on the base. Both flashlights feature a circular moulded manufacturer mark on the side of the head featuring the stylized RFT (Rundfunk- und Fernmelde-Technik) logo in the centre and the word GERMANY along the bottom edge. The bottom flashlight includes a white adhesive sticker on the barrel with handwritten characters 9731 and a lowercase b.
