Lot 18:
A Pair of Copper and Glass Wall-Mounted Lanterns in the Victorian Style
Description
A pair of outdoor wall-mounted lanterns constructed from copper with decorative cast metal mounts. The lanterns feature a tapered rectangular form with clear glass panels. Each unit is topped with a tiered copper cover and a prominent cast metal finial, likely brass or bronze. The corners are decorated with foliate cast metal mounts. One glass panel bears a small white adhesive stock label with the handwritten number 8874. These lanterns are designed in a traditional style reminiscent of Victorian gas street lamps. No maker’s marks are visible on the exterior. The lanterns are currently disconnected with no external wiring visible; the internal electrical components have not been tested. Professional inspection and potential rewiring by a qualified electrician are required before installation and use.
