A mid-20th century white-painted softwood storage chest
Description
A utilitarian storage trunk or blanket chest constructed from softwood planks, likely pine. The chest features a flat lid secured by three metal hinges at the rear and a single D-shaped metal pull handle to the front. The exterior is finished in a thick white paint which also covers the hardware and metal corner straps. It is raised on four square block feet. The interior remains in its natural, unfinished state, showing the plank construction. A small white rectangular label is affixed to the interior base, printed with the text SIZE 3L and two lines of smaller, indistinct characters below. The number 6732 is present on the lower-left exterior edge.
