The group includes three teapots of hexagonal panelled form and one of rectangular house-form. The specific themes represented are: Elizabeth I Queen of England (1558-1603) surrounded by names of notable Elizabethans; Vice Admiral Lord Nelson with names of naval captains and the signal England expects that every man will do his duty; the Duke of Wellington and soldiers of the Battle of Waterloo (1815); and a Robin Hood house-form teapot containing narrative text and a handwritten number 0254. The base of each piece bears the printed Sadler maker mark, Staffordshire, England, or Made in England, along with extensive descriptive text relating to the theme.
