A Victorian Mahogany Dressing Box with Fitted Interior and 9ct Gold Component
Description
A Victorian mahogany dressing box of rectangular construction. The exterior is fitted with a brass keyhole escutcheon and a central mother-of-pearl lid inlay. The interior lid features ruched purple velvet lining, while the base contains a fitted arrangement of compartments. These compartments house an assortment of glass jars with metal lids and a central removable tray lined with red velvet. Included within the tray is a small plastic bag containing a component with a tag marked 9ct gold. A small paper label with the handwritten number 105 is adhered to the front exterior.
