A Trio of Ceramic Lidded Items including Two Disney Beauty and the Beast Clover Butter Dishes
Description
This lot consists of three ceramic items: a pair of promotional lidded butter dishes and a small circular trinket box. The two rectangular butter dishes were produced for the Clover dairy spread brand as a special edition tie-in with the Walt Disney Classics film Beauty and the Beast. These items are constructed from glazed earthenware with a pale yellow finish. The lids are surmounted by a relief-moulded red rose with a green stem and leaves. The front of each dish displays a transfer-printed oval vignette featuring the characters Belle and the Beast within a decorative gold-coloured border. The bases are printed with Walt Disney Classics Beauty and the Beast, the Clover logo, the slogan Loved all over, and copyright information for Disney. The third item is a circular earthenware trinket box. The lid is decorated with a transfer-printed pastoral landscape scene in a traditional style, while the body remains plain white.
