A Collection of Vintage Hand-Painted Lead Toy Soldiers Depicting Indian Army Troops
Description
A collection of cast metal toy soldiers, likely manufactured from lead or a white metal alloy, with hand-painted finishes. The figures represent various units of the Indian Army from the British Raj era. The grouping includes infantry soldiers in red tunics with white cross-belts and grey turbans, one of whom is a standard-bearer. Also included are lancers in pairs, wearing yellow and black turbans with either red or dark green tunics, each holding a lance decorated with a red and white pennon. The figures are fixed to rectangular bases. White adhesive labels with handwritten inventory numbers 9703 and 9704 are visible on the base of one figure and in the reflection.
