A Collection of Bisque Porcelain Figurines Including a Welsh Tea Party Group and 18th Century Style Figures
Description
A collection of hand-painted bisque porcelain figurines comprising a large pair of figures in 18th-century Rococo-style dress, a figurative group titled Welsh Tea Party, and a smaller figure of a seated boy. The large pair consists of a female figure in a pale turquoise dress with applied floral motifs and a male figure in a coordinating pale green frock coat and breeches. The Welsh Tea Party group depicts five women in traditional Welsh costume, including tall black hats and red cloaks, seated around a tea table; the front of the base is inscribed Welsh Tea Party in blue script. The smaller figurine depicts a young boy in a pink jacket, yellow waistcoat, and blue trousers. These items are characteristic of late 19th or early 20th-century Continental or British bisque porcelain wares produced for the decorative market. No factory marks are visible on the exterior surfaces.
