A Large-Scale Three-Masted Wooden Model of a Clipper Ship
Description
A large-scale wooden model of a three-masted sailing vessel, constructed in the style of a 19th-century clipper or merchant ship. The wooden hull is finished in black with a reddish-brown lower section, separated by thin gold-toned banding. The bow and stern feature incised Roman numeral draught marks, with the bow marked XXII through XV and the stern marked XXI through XV. The model is equipped with a full suite of masts, a bowsprit, and extensive cord rigging. Deck details include miniature lifeboats and railings. A small adhesive label with the handwritten number 4708 is located on the port side of the hull. The vessel is presented on a simple black wooden cradle stand.
