A railway advertising poster for Scarborough, North Yorkshire, produced for the London and North Eastern Railway (LNER). The design is after the artist Hird and is dated 1950 in the upper right of the image area. The illustration depicts two women in period swimwear running through the surf on a beach. The poster features vertical blue block lettering for the location name, accompanied by the slogan IT’S QUICKER BY RAIL and LNER eye-shaped logos. The lower margin bears the inscription ROTUNDA MUSEUM, DEPARTMENT OF TOURISM AND AMENITIES, SCARBOROUGH, identifying this as a museum-issued commemorative print. A small white adhesive label with the handwritten digits 3676 is located in the top right corner.
