This collection of mid-20th-century British hardcover books includes a variety of literary and reference works. The group comprises The Bedside Book of Discoveries (Volume IV) from The Reader’s Digest Bedside Library, bound in cream paper-covered boards with a maroon title block; The Standard Encyclopedia in a blue cloth binding with a gilt lamp motif; Down the Garden Path by Beverley Nichols, published by Jonathan Cape in green cloth; Everything Within published by George Newnes in dark blue cloth; the News Chronicle Golden Treasury in an orange pebble-grained textured binding with gilt decorative borders; and An Attic Philosopher in Paris by Souvestre in a red cloth binding.
