Description

A late Victorian sterling silver coffee pot of baluster form, designed in the George II revival style. The vessel features a plain polished body supported by a stepped circular pedestal foot. The hinged, domed cover is surmounted by a tiered and knurled finial. It is fitted with a scrolled wooden handle and a plain tapering spout. The upper body is struck with a full set of English hallmarks, including the maker mark CB within a heart-shaped punch for Charles Boyton II, the leopard head for the London Assay Office, the lion passant indicating .925 sterling silver fineness, and the lowercase date letter a for the year 1896. This item is recorded as silver 775 gram.
