A Trio of George V Sterling Silver and Enamel Dressing Table Items
Description
This collection consists of three silver items including a clothes brush, a powder compact, and a miniature mirror. The oval-shaped clothes brush features a sterling silver mount with engine-turned decoration and a vacant circular cartouche. It bears the hallmarks for Birmingham, 1916, with the maker’s mark D&F for Deakin & Francis Ltd. The circular vanity case or powder compact features engine-turned decoration to the lid and base, containing an internal mirror and powder compartment. It is hallmarked to the interior for Birmingham, 1916, with the maker’s mark W.N for William Neale & Son Ltd. The base of the compact retains two paper labels reading 9702 B and SILVER 1017. The miniature hand mirror or pendant charm is decorated with purple guilloché enamel over a sunburst engine-turned ground and is stamped 925 S to the handle.
