Mid-Century Modern Hardwood Veneer Blanket Chest
Description
A mid-century modern storage trunk or blanket chest, circa 1960s. The exterior is finished in a medium-toned hardwood veneer, likely teak or sapele, with a lighter-toned utility plywood interior. The piece features a top-opening hinged lid with two internal metal butt hinges and a metal stay arm on the left side to support the lid when open. The front panel is fitted with a stylised triple-bar horizontal wooden pull handle. A circular metal lock escutcheon is positioned on the left side panel. The chest is raised on four square-tapered legs. No manufacturer marks or labels are visible.
