An Edwardian Sterling Silver Circular Hip Flask, Thomas Smith and Sons, Birmingham, 1905
Description
A sterling silver hip flask of circular form, manufactured by Thomas Smith and Sons. The flask features a plain, polished body with a centrally engraved foliate monogram in copperplate script. It is fitted with a simple screw-cap closure. The shoulder of the flask is struck with a full set of British hallmarks including the maker mark TS for Thomas Smith and Sons, the lion passant for sterling silver, the anchor for the Birmingham Assay Office, and the date letter f for 1905.
